The Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission (SREC) is an independent, non-governmental agency, responsible for the regulation of the fast-paced, dynamic and changing real estate industry. The Commission is mandated to protect consumers and to provide services that enhance and improve the industry and the business of industry members. The Commission is preparing for the future and is seeking a Legal and Compliance Manager.

Reporting to the Registrar/Executive Director, this newly created management role is responsible for leading and managing all legal and compliance functions of the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission including working with the public and external agencies to ensure regulatory laws have been followed.

Staying abreast of current issues impacting the real estate industry including legislation, compliance and governance issues in Saskatchewan and other jurisdictions across Canada is something you enjoy. You are familiar with The Real Estate Act and can provide legal advice and guidance on compliance issues. You have previous experience and skills to competently prepare for and present at disciplinary hearings, judiciary inquiries, Commission meetings and respond to public inquiries.

Your effective writing and research skills enable you to review and draft necessary changes to legislation, and develop effective policies and recommendations for the Commission. Comfortable with public speaking, you can develop and deliver seminars to various audiences on legal, ethical, administrative and evidentiary issues.

As a practicing lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan, you have strong analytical abilities and excellent communications skills. You can multi-task and effectively manage all of your files. With previous experience in the real estate industry, you are ready to assume this position.
