K+S Potash Canada is part of the K+S Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers of standard and specialty fertilizers and the world’s leading salt producer. K+S is in the initial stages of developing a new potash mine near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and is building its workforce to support ongoing operations expected to commence in 2015.

As K+S Potash establishes roots in Saskatchewan and develops the Legacy Project, a Senior Controller located in Saskatoon will be essential as a contributor to the success of the project. This newly created position reports to the Chief Financial Officer, and is responsible for accounting, monitoring, and reporting budgets and costs related to the Legacy Project.

Experienced in a project based environment, you are a results oriented team player equipped with a well-rounded knowledge in maintaining accounting and financial records. The Senior Controller prepares monthly and annual financial reports and audit files, conducts financial analysis, and produces evaluation modeling crucial to decision making for the management team to ensure that the Legacy Project is built on time and budget. You are enthusiastic about new challenges and confident in your ability to ensure financial systems related to project budgeting and accruals are implemented.

You are keen on creating strong working relationships with a variety of internal customers by utilizing your excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Naturally independent and detail oriented you are ready to be part of a team responsible for building the first Greenfield potash project in Saskatchewan in nearly 40 years!

With a CA, CMA, or CGA designation, in-depth knowledge of accounting/financial principles as they relate to the mining industry, a minimum of 5 years progressive management experience in a project based environment, and a post secondary degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, you are prepared for this opportunity and excited to be a part of Saskatchewan’s booming mining industry.
